Background

Senior have a strong preference to stay independent and and enjoy life in older age with a comfortable support. However, with limited mobility and health problem make senior activities become more cumbersome and prevent them from interact normally with the world. They are unable to going out to buy grocery or shopping alone without assist from other people. Hence, this affect older mental health and make their life become more difficult.

Emerging technology for independent support

From capturing independent aspect in life, the creation of automatic following trolley design that intent to service seniors with daily shopping, carrying grocery and heavy belongings from place to place. This is a exploration of task handling and communication robot that would give urge individuals a “TRUST” creation to remain dynamic, increment wellbeing, confidence, overcome limit in mobility and strength, and counter the unhappiness in old age with more psychological excitement.

The practical benefits of smart design will not override user perception and control as ergonomic design provides a proper flexible and adjustable design to suit different purposes plus utility customisation feature from smart AI technology will bring a desirable experience for older age and increase the efficiency of work.

“TRUST” is a notion of freedom, nobility, independence, correspondence, and connections support design for senior. The trolley follow user to anywhere they go to assist them with carrying tasks.

Scales adjustment for better storage

Ergonomic human- robot interaction design provides a sturdy engaging platform for user to interact effortlessly with a trolley. The height of the trolley can be adjusted to suitable with the height, reaching point, posture, and movement of user. The size of the container also can lengthen for larger store space and more functional.

A robot is act as user friendly factors which provide the most comfortable system to interact with user via both verbal and non-verbal communication. Sensors and auto brake system help the robot detecting objects encompass it to always keep a safety distance with human and dangerous situations while moving on the street.
